Biography

Gisèle studied at Saint Paul University and obtained a Masters in Theology. Her oil paintings were a source of inspiration not only for herself but her classmates as well. Furthermore, she was asked to exhibit some of her paintings at the University. Since then, she has enlarged her scope of exposure in the Ottawa region, and can be viewed in places such as La maison des arts in Embrun.

Her artistic career started under the guidance of Sister Rita L’Abbé, Henry Van Finkle and Gertrude Miron. They loved the vibrancy that flowed from this French Canadian female which covered her paintings in love, life and passion. Busy with work, studies and four children, Gisèle found comfort and fulfilment in the creation of lovely works of art through the movement of her paintbrush. Having traveled across Canada, from Iqualuit to Victoria, to Newfoundland, she was inspired by the beauty found in this country. You can also view paintings from South America and Europe.

Emerson wrote: “Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it within us, or we find it not.” Gisèle’s awe for the beautiful is expressed in every brushstroke. She paints so the viewer may find peace within themselves as they gaze at her work. It conveys beauty and purity, a truth found within. An interesting observation is that Gisèle noticed the youth and teenagers are particularly attracted by her paintings.
