Call for Presenters – Expo Hawkesbury

Call for Presenters – Expo Hawkesbury

Expo Hawkesbury is a new event taking place November 11 and 12 at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex. The Prescott-Russell Arts Council is pleased to participate in this inaugural event by contributing to an engaging and interactive artistic programming for the enjoyment of the many visitors.  We are looking for 4 to 5 artists or artisans to present an interactive creative demonstration during the event.

Demonstrations will be presented on the main stage, included in the event program, and should last between 45 and 60 minutes. This is an excellent opportunity to:

  • Increase visibility
  • Engage with the public
  • Promote your work as an instructor
  • Enhance the Expo visitor experience

After reading the details below, interested artists are invited to complete this submission form before September 30.

This is an exclusive opportunity for CAPRAC members. (Click here to join or renew your membership [CAPRAC membership is available in a “pay what you can” format]).

What we expect from your participation

The artist will have time on the main stage to present their demonstration. The public will be invited to circulate freely and interact with the artist and their work. A lot of visitors are expected to come and go, so workshops requiring prior registration will not be considered.

The demonstration can be a live creation of a work with an explanation of the process, the creation of a collective work in collaboration with visitors, or a short workshop that can be repeated. To keep up with the Expo’s target audience, the demonstration must be designed for a broad public.

Since the artist is invited as a presenter, the sale of artwork is not permitted. We encourage you to bring business cards or promotional items that can be made available to visitors. ( Please note that CAPRAC is not involved in booth rentals. For booth rental information, click here. Any questions on this subject should be redirected to the Expo organizers).

The Expo is expected to attract about 2,000 visitors per day, mostly adults and young families from Hawkesbury and the surrounding area. We encourage artists to be flexible, patient and ready to adapt their demonstration to anyone curious about the process.
